Hulk Smash is an alcoholic beverage made with Midori, sour apple liqueur, and lemonade, all poured over lemonade ice cubes. Both the name and the green color of the drink will remind you of the fictional character ‘The Hulk’ from Marvel Comics! But don’t worry, you won’t turn into the Hulk after drinking one, but the sweet drink does pack a punch (pun intended)! For another sweet and colorful cocktail based on a character, try my Grimace Cocktail.

Ingredients & Substitutions

Ice Cubes: To add more citrus flavor to the drink, freeze lemonade to use as the ice in the drink. Of course, you could also use regular ice cubes or crushed ice.

Midori Melon Liqueur: Midori is a popular brand of melon liqueur. It has a bright green color (perfect for this drink) that has a sweet melon flavor. There are other brands of melon liqueur, but Midori is the most popular.

Sour Apple Liqueur: Sour Apple Pucker is a specific brand of liqueur, produced by DeKuyper, known for its tart and sour green apple flavor.

Lemonade: Homemade lemonade is delicious, but store-bought lemonade would also work. Lemonade provides a refreshing and citrusy element to balance out the sweetness and melon flavor of the other ingredients. You could also try the drink with other citrusy juices like lime juice or orange juice. For some carbonation, substitute lemon-lime soda in the drink.

Can I Make A Large Batch Of The Hulk Smash Cocktail?

Absolutely! If you are hosting a party or gathering, this drink is easy to mix ahead of time so it’s ready to serve. Multiply the quantities of each ingredient by the desired number of servings, and make sure you have a large enough pitcher or punch bowl. Chill it in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Let guests pour the drink over lemonade ice cubes and garnish with a lemon twist!

What the Test Kitchen had to say about this recipe:

Autumn

This drink packs a punch **drumroll please**. Seriously though, this is a great summer cocktail! It is basically an adult lemonade with hints of melon and sour apple. Light and refreshing and a little bit sweet.

Elizabeth

This was really sweet for me, but the color was gorgeous!!! It's definitely a fun presentation and I love the name. I was hoping for some bulging muscles after taking a sip, but no luck. Cheers!

Bella

I was blown away with how beautiful and vibrant it looks. Besides its lively presentation, it has a lovely sweetness to it. It also has the right amount of sourness! This is a great drink to try if you enjoy sweet alcoholic drinks!

Selena

SO fun! I think it's delicious and perfect for summer!
