Blackberry Moscato Cocktail is a bubbly and refreshing alcoholic beverage made with fresh blackberries, lemon juice, sugar, lemon-lime soda, and Moscato d’Asti wine. This delightful drink is also known as Berry Breeze, Moscato Berry Smash, Lemonberry Fizz, and Blackberry Moscato Lemonade. No matter what you call it, you get a sweet, tangy, and fizzy concoction bursting with fruity flavors in every sip! Be sure to add it to your list of Summer Drink Recipes!
Ingredients & Substitutions
Glass Rim: The cocktail glasses will be dipped in lemon juice and granulated sugar. This will give a burst of citrusy sweetness to the drink.
Blackberries: Using fresh blackberries really elevates this cocktail. And, they are in peak season in the summer, so now is the perfect time to try this drink!
Lemon Juice: For the best taste, use freshly squeezed lemon juice. However, you could use bottled juice if that is all you have on hand.
Moscato d’Asti Wine: Moscato d’Asti wine is a slightly fizzy white wine made from moscato bianco grapes. It’s a lighter, sweeter wine with a lower alcohol content when compared to other wines. It’s considered a bubbly relative to Moscato wine. If you don’t have any on hand, try the cocktail with prosecco or cava.
Lemon Lime Soda: This cocktail is topped off with lemon-lime soda like Sprite. It adds some fizziness and flavor to the overall taste of the drink.
Can I Make A Blackberry Moscato Cocktail Without Alcohol?
Absolutely! One way to make this a Blackberry Moscato Mocktail is to eliminate the Moscato altogether (which would then be more like a Blackberry Fizz Mocktail). It is up to you if you increase the amount of lemon-lime soda. Or, make the drink with a sweet or semi-sweet non-alcoholic sparkling wine in place of the Moscato d’Asti.
Can I Make This Drink Without A Cocktail Shaker?
Yes! There are a couple of ways to make a Blackberry Moscato Cocktail without a cocktail shaker. If you still want the mix and chill factor of a cocktail shaker, use a traveling coffee mug with a tight lid. Muddle the blackberries with lemon juice and sugar. Then, add the Moscato and ice. Cover the opening mouth part, and get shakin’! Open it up and pour it into the glass of ice. Finally, top it with Sprite. Another way to enjoy the drink is to muddle the blackberries, lemon juice, and sugar in a bowl. Add that to a glass of ice and top with Moscato and Sprite. Stir and sip away!

What the Test Kitchen had to say about this recipe:
Autumn
What a light and refreshing drink! Not too sweet or heavy, it would be great for a brunch!
Elizabeth
I didn't mind this drink! It's fruity, but not too sweet. I love the bubbles and appreciate that it is not an overly strong drink, alcohol-wise. Perfect for sipping on a hot summer day.
Selena
This is a really light, flavorful drink. I love that It's not too sweet and that there's bubbly at the end!
I would love to try this! I have 2 options for the wine, which would you suggest:
Marchese dell’Elsa Moscato d’Asti
Or
Rivata Moscato d’Asti sparkling wine.
Which is better? Which is sweeter?
Unfortunately I have no idea which is better! I would try the one you already enjoy! 🙂
