I made this recipe tonight because I wanted to bake cookies but didn’t have chocolate chips for Chocolate Chip Cookies. I decided to make these because they didn’t require much else after rolling in sugar cinnamon. They are delicious! Its my first time making Snickerdoodles. Thumbs up from my family. Delicious! My house smells amazing. Thank you for sharing this recipe.

The recipe doesn’t tell you to do that. But 2 cups is allot of extra flour.

That’s because you probably should have chilled the dough first for 30 minutes

Hi, Sirvart! I work with iambaker and am happy to help with questions. Yes, you can freeze these cookies before baking or after. If freezing before, prepare your dough, then scoop the cookies onto a parchment-lined cookie sheet. (They can be placed close together at this point.) Set the cookie sheet in the freezer just until the dough is cold, about two hours. Then transfer the dough balls to an airtight freezer bag or airtight container that fits into your freezer. A day before you are ready to bake the cookies, take them out of the freezer and place them in the refrigerator overnight. When ready to bake, roll into the cinnamon-sugar mixture and bake as directed. You can also freeze the cookies after they have been baked. Let them cool completely, place them in the freezer until solid, and then store them in freezer-safe containers for up to 3 months. I hope this helps, and have a wonderful day!

I love this recipe! It’s wonderful as is, but I like to change up a recipe & experiment. Now it is my staple cookie! Thank you! My spin is I add butterscotch chips and omit rolling in cinnamon sugar. They are now snickerdoodle butterscotch cookies and many love them!

HI Louis – 2 cups of flour is a SIGNIFICANT change to the recipe. I am glad they turned out but that amount of adaptation is not usually recommended.

Love snickerdoodles this recipe is good but had to add 2 cups more of flour. Dough was very sticky and could not be made into balls. Add the extra flour and it was fine. YES I know how to bake been doing it for 60 years. Everyone loved the cookies.
