Homemade Lemon-Lime Soda is a non-alcoholic carbonated drink made with simple syrup, freshly squeezed lime juice, and sparkling water. Try my Homemade Lemonade for another refreshing drink for the entire family to enjoy.
Homemade Lemon-Lime Soda
Making your own drinks at home lets you have control over what ingredients are added. You can make this lemon-lime soda a little sweeter or not as sweet, according to your preference. I even used homemade simple syrup to really take charge of what is going into the drink.
Homemade Lemon-Lime Soda Ingredients
Simple Syrup: If you don’t have any on hand, make your own simple syrup to use in this drink, as well as in cocktails, on cakes, and on cupcakes!
Lime Juice: I highly recommend using fresh lime juice. One lime (I squeezed every last drop) was about 1/4 cup. (Using storebought, bottled lime juice is not recommended.)
Sparkling Water: Sparkling water (fizzy water) is simply carbonated water (water that has been infused with carbon dioxide gas pressure). You could also use club soda, seltzer water, or natural sparkling mineral water.
How to Make Homemade Lemon-Lime Soda
This recipe could not be easier. And, it’s fresh, refreshing, and yummy. In addition, your kids can drink it because you know what each and every ingredient is. To make the soda, simply stir all the ingredients together in a pitcher. Then, pour the mixture into a glass over ice. Add some lemon and lime wedges to add more flavor and use as a garnish.
This recipe is on the sweeter side (which I prefer). However, if you do not want the beverage quite as sweet, start with just a half cup of simple syrup. You can always add more if desired.

Awesome! Like another commenter said, I have the soda stream at home and love love love making my own soda. I’ve been trying to give up soda but this sounds like a slightly healthier and still yummy version! Thanks for sharing 🙂
When I was a kid there was nothing better than reaching into a big open Coca Cola cooler filled with ice and glass bottles of Cliquot Club soda. Also in there was a host of so many other flavors and varieties like, Cream soda, Moxie, Orange Crush (with real bits or orange peel in it!) birch beer, root beer and of course Coca Cola included.
My favorite Cliquot Club soda flavor was the lemon/lime which tasted very much like lemon/lime lifesaver candy. It was green and bubbly. Lemon/lime sodas today taste more like Seven Up. Mountain dew is close but it still isn’t the same thing!
Wonderful!!! I am in love with this!!! Thank you!
