Banana Cream Pie Cocktail is an adult dessert beverage that is like enjoying a piece of Banana Cream Pie in liquid form. It has a vanilla wafer rim (like the crust of the pie), lots of creamy banana flavor from the liqueurs, and a dollop of whipped topping. I even added some banana slices as garnish. Try my Sugar Cookie Cocktail for another fun and tasty alcoholic drink.
Ingredients & Substitutions
Vanilla Wafers: You only need a few wafers to crush to dip the rim of the glass. If you feel up to it, you can make your own homemade vanilla wafers to use in this recipe (and have a lot left over to enjoy).
RumChata Cream Liqueur: This cream-based liqueur is made with rum, cinnamon, and vanilla. Check out my homemade recipe for RumChata to use! Baileys is another creamy liqueur, but with chocolate flavor and Irish whiskey. However, Baileys does have a vanilla and cinnamon liqueur that you could use in this drink.
Banana Liqueur: Also known as ‘creme de banane’, this gives the dessert cocktail that important banana flavor!
Bananas: If you have some bananas, cut one up to add as a garnish to the drink.
Can I make this Cocktail without a Shaker?
Yes! Don’t miss out on this Banana Cream Pie cocktail just because you don’t have a cocktail shaker…yet😉. A great alternative would be to use a to-go coffee mug with a solid lid. Fill the mug up with ice, just like in a shaker, add all the ingredients, cover the opening mouth part, and get shakin’! When you are ready to pour the contents into the glass, just open up the mouth opening and pour. The lid should hold the ice back so you just get the chilled cocktail.
Variations to Banana Cream Pie Cocktail
Although delicious as-is, you can always make some minor changes. For one, serve the drink over ice (rather than shake it). A second variation could be to spike the drink a bit more by adding a shot or two of vodka. Third, use crushed graham crackers instead of vanilla wafers. It will still give you all of the flavors of Banana Cream Pie.
