I used a standard 9” round cake pan and within 20 minutes the bottom of the oven and the racks were covered in burnt batter! What a mess. The recipe should come with a warning.

Absolutely delicious! Very simple recipe that I made it for an after dinner treat during the weekday. Not overly sweet as some desserts but it was a hit with the entire family…will make this again!

To make the almond paste easier to mix, I put it in the microwave for a few seconds to soften it and then mix with the sugar. Makes it a lot easier to work with!
